Technic pins hold every LEGO® Technic model together. They connect beams, liftarms and panels, and decide whether a joint stays put or turns freely.

About Technic Pins

The key difference is friction. Pins with friction ridges grip the hole and hold a joint in place, pins without friction ridges spin freely, which is what you want for wheels and moving parts. Beyond the standard pin you will find longer 3L pins, half pins, pins with a stop bush and pins with a tow ball.

• With friction for fixed joints, without friction for rotation

Finding the right part

• Check friction or no friction in the name before you order.
• Filter on colour: in newer sets the colour often hints at the pin type.
• Pins go through holes in Technic liftarms and Technic bricks.
