About LEGO Friends figures
LEGO Friends started in 2012 with five friends in the fictional town of Heartlake City: Andrea, Emma, Mia, Olivia and Stephanie. Their stories are about friendship, hobbies, animals and the places they hang out, from the café and the vet to the horse stable and the treehouse. In later years the cast grew with new friends such as Aliya, Leo, Liann, Nova and Paisley.
Friends figures are not classic minifigures but mini-dolls: a slimmer figure with a different body, legs that do not move separately and more detailed faces and hair. They hold accessories in their hands, just like a minifigure, so they work fine in any build. Parts of a mini-doll do not swap with minifigure parts, so look for mini-doll hair and torsos if you want to change one. Many collectors keep both: classic minifigures for the city and mini-dolls for Heartlake, side by side on the same shelf.
